Abstract

Hasta la realización de este trabajo de investigación los historiadores de arte consideraban a la Arquitectura Virreinal Peruana como, manifestación decorativa derivada de los estilos arquitectónicos europeos y no como lo que se demuestra: escuelas de arquitectura adaptadas a las regiones, caracterizada por innovaciones en las técnicas constructivas, uso de materiales, creación de estilos arquitectónicos e incorporación de técnicas antisísmicas. Esto último inexistente en la arquitectura europea

Till the realization of the present research work, art historians considered that the Peruvian viceregal architectureas a decorative manifestation derived of European architectural stiles, and not of what is demonstrated in this article:the Peruvian viceregal architectureis the result of architectural schools adapted to the local regions, characterized by technological innovations, the use of materials, the creation of architectural stiles and the introduction ofearthquake­proof techniques. This later one, did not exist in the European architecture
