Valor económico de los servicios ecosistémicos del río Rímac en un tramo aledaño al proyecto vía expresa Línea Amarilla

Abstract

El presente trabajo buscó cuantificar el valor económico correspondiente a la pérdida de determinados servicios ecosistémicos en un tramo del río Rímac. Se realizó la delimitación del área de estudio, la cual se ubicó cercana al proyecto "Vía Expresa Línea Amarilla"; además, se realizó la caracterización de esta área a través de visitas de campo y entrevistas a pobladores. Con dicha información se identificó los servicios ecosistémicos presentes actualmente en el área de estudio y aquellos que se perdieron en el tiempo por la afectación ambiental. Luego de la identificación de los servicios ecosistémicos se llevó a cabo un análisis socioambiental, con el objetivo de identificar los servicios ecosistémicos más relevantes para la valoración económica. Se ejecutó la valoración económica de los servicios ecosistémicos con uso del método transferencia de beneficios, específicamente, mediante transferencia de valor unitario ajustado. Como resultado se obtuvo un valor económico total de casi seiscientos mil soles (S/ 589 546.04) en el año 2021, equivalente a una pérdida mensual por familia de más de veinte soles (S/ 22.59). A pesar de que la pérdida del valor económico encontrado se debe a las afectaciones hacia algunos servicios ecosistémicos del río Rímac dentro del área de estudio, también se identificó un marcado factor social de despreocupación y normalización hacia las inadecuadas condiciones en el río Rímac, acompañado de indiferencia por parte de las autoridades, lo cual dificulta iniciativas y acciones concretas para revertir la situación.

The present work sought to quantify the economic value corresponding to the loss of certain ecosystem services in a section of the Rímac River. The delimitation of the study area was carried out, which was located close to the "Vía Expresa Línea Amarilla" project. In addition, the characterization of this area was carried out through field visits and surveys of residents. With this information, the ecosystem services currently present in the study area and those that were lost over time due to environmental damage were identified. After identifying the ecosystem services, a socio-environmental analysis was carried out, with the aim of identifying the most relevant ecosystem services for economic valuation. The economic valuation of ecosystem services was carried out using the transfer of benefits method, specifically, through the transfer of adjusted unit value. As a result, a total economic value of almost six hundred thousand soles (S/ 589,546.04) was obtained in 2021, equivalent to a monthly loss per family of more than twenty soles (S/ 22.59). Despite the fact that the loss of the economic value found is due to the effects on some ecosystem services of the Rímac River within the study area, a marked social factor of carelessness and normalization towards the inadequate conditions in the Rímac River was also identified, accompanied by indifference on the part of the authorities, which hinders initiatives and concrete actions to reverse the situation.
